Heights is located in the North Ward of Orillia and is a Kindergarten
to Grade 8 school. The original building was built in 1955 with several
additions in succession. Our school motto is “Come Learn with
Us”.
There is a rich history of academic excellence
along with strong programmes offered in instrumental music and athletics.
Our bands are have consistently won gold at the Kiwanis Festival
for the past few years. Our gymnasium is overflowing with championship
banners that attest to the dedication and hard work of our student
athletes and coaches.
The school community and School Council are committed to maximizing
student achievement in both literacy and numeracy. We actively support
the Character Education initiative as set out by the Simcoe County
District School Board and believe in the power of role models for
our students. As part of our Character Education, the students give
back to the community by supporting various charities. Students
are encouraged to “support locally but think globally”.
Students have many opportunities to provide leadership within the
school and give back to the community. Parent and families have
a strong tradition of supporting school initiatives and working
collaboratively with staff in the development and growth of their
children.
We are delighted to welcome visitors during regular school hours
to see for themselves the home of the “Cooch Cats”!
